| Pete Nghiem/Boundary Hotel wins QueenSix Poker Championship Event |
Peter Nghiem, representing the Boundary Hotel, has won the Season 1 2008 QueenSix Poker Championship Event, which was held at the Dolphin Hotel On Saturday July 20. He survived an epic heads up battle with Mark Matthews, after playing an extremely short stack for most of the game. Nghiem took the honours and the championship bracelet when his A♠Q♠ held up after he managed to chip up when his flush beat Matthews’ straight. His victory wins the QueenSix Championship Perpetual Trophy for the Boundary Hotel, where it now sits behind the bar, and will remain until the next Championship Event. Hotel Manager, Bede Minto, was wrapped with the win and is looking forward to hosting the next Championship Event.
