New UPT $50,000 modified qualification!
After discussions with UPT, QueenSix can confirm that the top 2 places on any of our venue leader-boards will qualify for the UPT $50,000 event (rather than the top player only)!

In addition, finish in the top 10 at any QueenSix venue and you will qualify for the QueenSix Championship Event, in which 1 in every 4 players will win tickets to the UPT main event.

The structure of the new QueenSix Championship Event is still to be determined, but it will be a qualification and buy-in event, with a cash prize based on entries along with the tickets to the UPT $50,000 game.

These changes will be of great benefit to QueenSix players with more ways to qualify for the big UPT event. We believe in the QueenSix players and have no doubt our playing group has what it takes to win big with UPT!

It will take us some time to update our website to align to the new structure, so please spread the word and we'll see you at the tables.

Jake Olsen the new QueenSix Champion!

Jake Olsen became the new QueenSix champion recently when he took down the joint QueenSix-PokerMania Championship Event, winning $3,000!

It was a strong field of around 50 players competing for the $5,000 prize money and saw some fantastic play over around 8 hours.

It appeared PokerMania had the majority of live players for most of the day, but final table was a perfect split, 4 players from PokerMania and 4 players from QueenSix.

Early final table action saw Mike Devitt make a large all-in play at the conclusion of a big betting hand against Bill Sives. Sives made a huge call, and won the hand making him somewhat of a monster chip stack.

Taf Tagliaferro (a regular at QueenSix, though who had qualified through PokerMania) was the next to go, followed by Jim Nikifordis and Julie Smith (who won $200 for her 5th place finish).

That left Jake Olsen, JP Hervieux, Linzi Bloch (all of QueenSix), and Bill Sives (PokerMania). Whilst Olsen had won some large pots and Sives was still in a good chip position, Hervieux and Bloch had been nursing short stacks for most of final table. In the hands that followed, Bloch survived more than 1 pre-flop all-in, while Hervieux was able to vastly improve his position, before Olsen and Sives got into a huge pot, leaving Olsen chip leader by a long way. Sives won $300 for his 4th place.

With a QueenSix top 3, Bloch pushed for a deal, but Olsen's chip position was too strong to negotiate, and after a lack of playable cards Bloch was soon eliminated
and took $500 for her 3rd place.

Heads up was a fairly quick affair. The equation was simple. Hervieux needed to double-up, and was all-in with 2♦2♣ against Olsen's A♣3♥. The flop was nice for Hervieux with a pair of 5's and a 6 on the board, but when both the turn and river were 10's, his pocket pair was counterfeited and Olsen's two-pair with ace kicker sealed his victory. Olsen took $3,000 cash while Hervieux won $1,000.
